After listening to Herod, the wise men continued their journey toward Bethlehem.
Then something wonderful happened.
The star they had seen in the East appeared again and went ahead of them until it stopped over the house where the child was.
The Bible says,
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.”
Their joy was not because of the star itself.
The star was only a guide.
Their true joy came from knowing that they were about to meet the King.
When they entered the house, they found the child Jesus with His mother Mary.
They did not ask for signs or miracles.
They first fell down and worshiped Him.
True worship begins not with understanding everything, but with humbling ourselves before the King.
Then they opened their treasures.
They presented Jesus with gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
These were not ordinary gifts.
Gold honored Him as King.
Frankincense pointed to His divine nature and priestly ministry.
Myrrh foreshadowed His suffering and sacrificial death for our salvation.
The wise men offered the very best they had.
This challenges us today.
What are we offering to Jesus?
Our time?
Our hearts?
Our obedience?
True worship is not giving God what is left over.
It is giving Him our very best because He is worthy.
The wise men followed the star, but they worshiped Jesus.
May we also seek Christ above signs, blessings, or circumstances, and joyfully worship Him as our true King.
