Heaven!

The Family of Israel Journeying by Faith 야곱은 하나님의 말씀을 들은 후 브엘세바를 떠났습니다. 그는 혼자 움직이지 않았습니다. 아들들과 딸들, 손주들, 가족 전체를 데리고 애굽으로 내려갔습니다. 그리고 그들은: 가축과 재산을 가지고, 삶의 터전을 옮기며, 새로운 길로 나아갔습니다. 이 장면은 단순한 이주 이야기가 아닙니다. 하나님의 약속을 따라 움직이는 믿음의 여정입니다. 야곱은 익숙한 가나안을 떠났습니다. 하지만 그는 하나님의 말씀을 붙들고 움직였습니다. 믿음은 종종 익숙한 곳을 떠나는 용기를 요구합니다. 그리고 진짜 믿음은 나 혼자만 움직이는 것이 아니라, 다음 세대까지 하나님 앞으로 데리고 가는 것입니다.

Jacob heard the astonishing news that Joseph was still alive. Yet he did not immediately rush down to Egypt. Instead, he stopped at Beersheba and offered sacrifices to God. Why? Egypt was a land of provision, but also a place of uncertainty and fear. Canaan was the promised land, and Jacob now had to leave the familiar place of covenant and journey into the unknown. So first, he sought God. That night, God called his name: “Jacob, Jacob.” And God said: “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt. I will go with you.” God is not One who merely gives directions. He is the One who walks with us on the journey. There are seasons in our lives when we must leave familiar places behind. New ministries, new environments, and new decisions often bring fear. But when God goes with us, even unfamiliar roads can become paths of grace. Jacob eventually went down to Egypt, but he did not go alone. God went with him.

야곱은 요셉이 살아 있다는 놀라운 소식을 들었습니다. 하지만 그는 곧바로 애굽으로 내려가지 않았습니다. 그는 먼저 브엘세바에 멈추어 하나님께 제사를 드렸습니다. 왜였을까요? 애굽은 풍요의 땅이었지만 동시에 두려운 땅이기도 했습니다. 가나안은 하나님께서 약속하신 땅이었고, 야곱은 지금 익숙한 삶과 언약의 자리에서 떠나야 했습니다. 그래서 그는 먼저 하나님께 묻습니다. 그 밤, 하나님께서 야곱의 이름을 부르십니다. “야곱아, 야곱아.” 그리고 말씀하십니다. “애굽으로 내려가는 것을 두려워하지 말라. 내가 너와 함께 내려갈 것이다.” 하나님은 단지 방향만 알려주시는 분이 아닙니다. 그 길에 함께 걸어가시는 분입니다. 우리도 인생에서 익숙한 곳을 떠나야 할 때가 있습니다. 새로운 사역, 새로운 환경, 새로운 결정 앞에서 두려움이 생깁니다. 하지만 하나님께서 함께 가신다면, 낯선 길도 은혜의 길이 될 수 있습니다. 야곱은 결국 애굽으로 내려갔지만, 혼자 내려간 것이 아니었습니다. 하나님께서 함께 가셨습니다.

형제들은 야곱에게 말합니다. “요셉이 살아 있습니다.” 하지만 야곱은 쉽게 믿지 못합니다. 너무 오래 슬퍼했던 사람은, 좋은 소식조차 쉽게 받아들이지 못할 때가 있습니다. 그러나 요셉이 보낸 수레들을 본 순간, 야곱의 마음은 다시 살아나기 시작합니다. 그리고 그는 말합니다. “이것이면 충분하다. 내 아들 요셉이 살아 있다.” 죽은 줄 알았던 아들이 살아 있었습니다. 하나님은 때때로, 우리가 완전히 끝났다고 생각한 이야기 위에 다시 생명을 불어넣으십니다. The brothers told Jacob: “Joseph is still alive.” But Jacob could hardly believe it. Sometimes those who have grieved for too long struggle even to receive good news. Yet when he saw the wagons Joseph had sent, his spirit revived. Then he said: “It is enough. My son Joseph is still alive.” The son he thought was dead was alive. Sometimes God breathes life again into stories we believed were completely over.

놀랍게도 바로 왕까지 요셉 가족의 회복을 기뻐합니다. 그는 말합니다. “애굽의 좋은 것을 너희에게 주겠다.” 수레와 음식과 선물이 준비됩니다. 한때 노예로 팔려왔던 요셉이, 이제는 가족 전체를 살리는 통로가 되었습니다. 그리고 요셉은 마지막으로 형제들에게 말합니다. “길에서 서로 다투지 마십시오.” 회복된 관계는 조심스럽게 지켜야 하기 때문입니다. 하나님의 은혜는 단지 우리를 살리는 데서 끝나지 않고, 다른 사람을 살리는 통로로 우리를 사용하시기도 합니다. Even Pharaoh rejoiced over the restoration of Joseph’s family. He declared: “I will give you the best of Egypt.” Wagons, food, and gifts were prepared. Joseph, once sold as a slave, had now become the means of saving his entire family. Before sending them away, Joseph told his brothers: “Do not quarrel on the journey.” Restored relationships must be carefully protected. God’s grace not only saves us, but also uses us as instruments to bless others.

요셉은 형제들에게 말합니다. “아버지를 빨리 모셔오십시오.” 그의 마음속에는 오랜 그리움이 있었습니다. 요셉은 단순히 가족을 살리려는 것이 아니라, 다시 함께 살기를 원했습니다. 그리고 마침내 베냐민을 끌어안고 울며, 형제들과도 화해합니다. 오랫동안 깨져 있던 가족이 다시 연결되기 시작합니다. 회복은 단순히 용서의 선언으로 끝나지 않습니다. 다시 가까이 가고, 다시 함께 울고, 다시 이야기하는 데까지 나아갑니다. Joseph told his brothers: “Bring my father here quickly.” His heart was filled with years of longing. Joseph did not merely want to save his family. He wanted to live near them again. At last, he embraced Benjamin and wept, and he reconciled with his brothers. A broken family slowly began to heal. Restoration is more than saying, “I forgive you.” It also means drawing close again, weeping together, and speaking together once more.
