Genesis 47:11–12 The God Who Continues to Provide Genesis 47:11–12 shows Joseph settling and caring for his family in the land of Goshen. They had not merely arrived in Egypt. God had: prepared a place for them, provided food for them, and created a safe environment where they could live. Scripture says: “Joseph settled his father and brothers in the best part of the land and provided for them according to their needs.” This is such a comforting picture. Because God does not simply allow His people to barely survive. He: provides what is needed, prepares a place to remain, and faithfully cares for the whole family. One phrase especially stands out: “according to their needs.” God’s provision is not mechanical or impersonal. He knows the unique situation and need of each person. Some need strength.
