Nehemiah 12:27-47, 축제와 일상 Thinking and Understanding The city wall was finally complete. The Levites and the priests purified the gates and the wall(27-30). Nehemiah gathered the leaders and the choir and had them climb up onto the wall(31). After dividing the choir in two and instructing them each to walk around half of the wall while singing praise, Nehemiah had the two choirs brought together to sing in the temple(31-42). Even the weak rejoiced(43). Also on this day of celebration men were appointed over the store rooms to help with the routine tasks of regular worship(44-47). It is almost as if the passage is telling us that the joy of the celebration could not be maintained without the stuff of everyday. Who is God? God gives us joy. God gives great joy even to the helpless. God rejoices when he sees us rejoice. Where God rejoices, so do his people(Psalm126:3). What lesson Is God teaching us? Nehemiah 11:1-36 Thinking and Understanding For the rebuilt Jerusalem to be protected, people were required to inhabit the city(7:1-4). The leaders and ten percents of the remaining people chose to live in Jerusalem. The idea of departing from their hometown and moving to Jerusalem, which was still in ruins, was not an appealing one. so, the people fairly cast lots and blessed those who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem(1-2). The name and genealogies of the families and leaders who took up residence in Jerusalem are recorded(4-24). The rest of Israel lived in various villages(3,20, 25-36) What lesson is God teaching us? The leaders set an example first by choosing to dwell in the run-down city of Jerusalem. others who willingly volunteered were also allowed to dwell in Jerusalem. Willingly volunteering is more valuable than obeying as a appointed person. Are there any opportunities in our current surroundings for us willingly volunteer sacrifice and servitude?

저질 체력이라 한다..... 홍역과 장티푸스에서 온전히 회복된지 한달도 채 안되어 목감기가 찾아왔다. 40도가 넘는 이 날씨에.... 얼굴도 땀띠 때문인지, 아님 피부 바이러스 때문인지 가렵고 쓰리고 하다. 미얀마의 바이러스 환경은 필리핀 보다 강한듯하다.! 그래도 꽃 한송이를 피워본다. 그 일을 진짜로 행하시는 창조주의 숨결은 신비롭기만 하다!
