God Fulfills His Plan Through Obedient People
Matthew 2:13–15
After the wise men departed, God spoke once again.
This time, He spoke to Joseph in a dream.
“Get up. Take the child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you to return.”
Herod was still searching for the child, but God already knew what was about to happen.
Joseph did not ask questions.
He did not ask why.
He did not ask how long he would have to stay.
The Bible simply says,
“So Joseph got up…”
The angel commanded, “Get up,” and Joseph immediately obeyed.
He did not wait until morning.
He left during the night, taking Mary and the child to Egypt.
This is what true obedience looks like.
Obedience is not waiting until everything makes sense.
It is trusting God’s Word even when we do not understand everything.
Joseph’s obedience did more than protect his family.
Matthew tells us that this happened to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
“Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
God never forgets His promises.
At the right time, every word He has spoken will be fulfilled.
And very often, He chooses to accomplish His purposes through ordinary people who simply obey Him.
There are many moments in life when we do not understand God’s direction.
We may not know why He asks us to wait, move, or change our plans.
Yet God sees what we cannot see.
Our responsibility is not to know everything.
Our responsibility is to trust the One who knows everything.
Today, God still calls His people:
“Get up.”
May we respond like Joseph—with immediate faith, humble obedience, and complete trust in God’s perfect plan.
