When Answers Fail, a Person Is Revealed
(Genesis 41:8–13)
Pharaoh awoke from his dream, but his heart remained troubled.
The dream was vivid, yet no one could explain its meaning.
He summoned all the magicians and wise men of Egypt.
Every possible source of human wisdom was consulted,
but before the king, not a single person could interpret the dream.
This moment is not meant to deny human wisdom.
Rather, God reveals that human wisdom, though real,
cannot provide the answer to this particular problem.
Then the chief cupbearer speaks:
“My faults I remember today.”
His memory is not sudden kindness.
It is conscience awakened at God’s appointed time.
He testifies about a man he met in prison—
a Hebrew youth, a servant of the captain of the guard.
No title, no status, no name emphasized,
yet the testimony is clear.
The man interpreted dreams.
Each interpretation matched the dream exactly,
and everything happened just as he said.
Joseph has not yet appeared before the king.
But everything is now prepared.
Human possibilities have reached their limit,
and God’s servant has been confirmed through testimony.
God does not deny human capability;
but when those capabilities cannot provide the answer,
He establishes a person according to His own way.
