The Love of God  what nothing shall separate from us (Romans. 8: 35)

Palm Sunday is the day that we remember what Jesus entered Jerusalem before he died on the cross for salvation of us from sins, and the people of Israel welcomed with praising ‘Hosanna, Hosanna’ and shaking palm tree branches.

When Jesus drew near to Jerusalem, Jesus sent two disciples to the village.

Jesus said, “go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one ever sat. untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘why are you doing this?’ say, ‘the Lord has need if it and will send it back here immediately.”’

So, the disciples of Jesus entered the village, and there was colt, so they untied it and tried to bring to Jesus. And as Jesus told them, the owner asked them why are you doing this? So, they answered, the Lord will use it and then, the owner gave them the colt without any word.

And Jesus sat on the colt, and he entered Jerusalem.

Jesus came to this world as king. The king was entering now into Jerusalem.

However, he didn’t take a fancy carriage, instead he took a young donkey. It was not splendid at all. Instead it’s look poor in human sight.

At that time, the people of Israel shouted and praised ‘Hosanna, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!.’

And they waved palm tree branches.

Do you know why they shouted, ‘Hosanna’?

Because, they remember Psalm 118:25-26, and they believed it.

“ Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord!, give us success!

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord!’

This is the praise of the Messiah coming and finally restoring the land of Israel.

The time of David ends in Israel, and his son Solomon reign, and after Solomon, Israel was divided north, and south, North Israel, and south Judah. And north Israel was completely destroyed by Assyria in 722 BC.

And the only remaining south Judah was invaded by Babylon in 587 BC. And many of people were taken to Babylonian captivity. In the meantime, Israel seemed to disappear in history.

And the remained the people of Judah in the land was later dominated by Rome, and in 70 AD, Israel was disappearing from the face of the earth. This Israelite nation with a very long history seemed to disappear completely from the earth.

Do you know what was the hope of these Jews who lost their country?

It is that the coming of Messiah. The Messiah will come and save us and restore this land. It was their long hope and prayer. Why? Because Israel is the one who was chosen by God.

It is their main idea.

And a young man named Jesus, who came as a descendant of David, declares repentance, performs miracles, becomes friends of the weak, and friend of the sick.

And he condemned who have power, and religious leaders. So, the people of Israel thought that he is the Messiah who they wanted. And he will restore this land of Israel, and he will give us liberty from Rome.

And I condemn those who have power, religious leaders. So they're the Messiah they wanted.

Then Jesus ride on young donkey and entered the city of Jerusalem, so they thought, ‘finally, Jesus will overturn the land of Israel.’ So that, they praised Jesus for Hosanna, Hosanna…

Then Jesus rides on a donkey and enters the city of Jerusalem. So they thought, 'At last Jesus will overturn the land of Israel.' They praised Jesus for Hosanna and Hosanna.

But, what did Jesus ride when he entered Jerusalem? Did he ride BMW?

No, He took young donkey, it like Tico. Do you know the Tico? It is a smallest car in Korea. We have some joke about this car.

For example, when the Tico pass the way, don’t throw your gum on the way. Because Tico will attach on the load by the gum.  And the driver of Tico pass the curve, he must put out his one hand on the curve, so that the Tico will not fall down or overturn……….hehe…

Jesus didn’t ride BMW, or white horse, instead he ride colt.

Then, why?

To fulfill the word spoken through the prophet Zechariah of the Old Testament, he rode colt.

You see the Zechariah 9: 9

It is foretells that the king will come. And it says to the people of Israel, when the time come to praise. And the king will come with the young donkey.

As the word, Jesus entered into Jerusalem with the young donkey.

So that, the people of Israel remembered the word, and they seek and praised Hosanna, Hosanna, come Lord and save us.

Even today, modern Israelites sing this praise song with joy when the Day of Atonement passes, and the Feast of Tabernacle begins.

They are singing the Hosanna joyfully with the hope that the Messiah will come and restore Israel.

In fact, 2000 years ago, the word of God prophesied in the Old Testament was fulfilled through Jesus of Nazareth, but the modern Jews, they still do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah. 

They are still waiting the Messiah, and praise this song, “Hosanna, come and save us, you are our Father, and the King” on the Feast of Tabernacle. They seriously are waiting the Messiah, and they eagerly love the Law, the word of God. When I see them I feel really sorry and peaty on them. why? Because the Messiah came already 2000 years ago and they don’t recognize it.

Like this, Jesus came already, but the people in today cannot recognize Jesus and not believe in Jesus.

Whenever, I think of Jews, I feel so sorry, sad, and wonder. They are so poor.

You know? Jesus also cried when he saw the city of Jerusalem. He wept.

Why? “ I am your Messiah came, your savior came to you, and I will die for you to save you. “

But they didn’t know it but rather they killed Jesus. They killed!

I was sad when I thought of these Jews. I feel sorry for you. Jesus looks at this Jerusalem castle and weeps.
Why? I came, the Messiah came, the savior came, and I will die for you, but they do not know, but rather you kill the Jesus.

Todays, also when we share gospel, people don’t know Jesus, and don’t believe in him rather they shout, curse, and persecute.

It is so poor.

God sent his the only son to this world for the sinners.

God loves you and me, so He sent his the only son to this world to save us from sin and suffering.

Jesus is the key word of the Father God toward human being.

He does not just say, I love you, I love to us. But he really sent his the only son and he showed us His real heart.

Let’s think about it before you believe in Jesus Christ, how was you? Did you live well, were you okay?

In those day, there are so many strange and cruel things in this world. In Korea, I don’t know your country, father and stepmother put a child was 7 years old in the very cold bathroom during several days in winter, and they lock the door, they didn’t give food at all. Why because the child pee all the time everywhere.  So the child died, then the father and step mother buried the child in the mountain.

And a aunty was 20 years old, stepped on her sister’s baby, why because the baby crying a lot, so noisy, so that the baby died. 

And the young man who has family killed his mother and his half blood brother, and his step father also for taking the money from mother. And so on…

Why is the world like this?
Why is the world so bad?

Jesus said, when the last time come, the love of people is cool down.

It is our reality.

It is the human that not deserve to be loved.

It is human being to kill the neighbors and even family for their own benefit.

We are living the world which is full of the politicians who use people to win their own honor and power, and the fallen religious leaders.

Then, what about you and me? Are we innocent? Are we not such kind of people? No..

Paul says,

“you were dead in the trespasses and sins.”

Who are we?

We were once walked, following the courses of this world, following the prince of the power of the air. It was us before you accept Jesus Christ. But if you still live in this way, repent to the Lord, turn to the Lord to be saved.

If you still not follow the will of God and live as your will, you cannot avoid the punishment of God.

Anyway, it was us, but God still loves us. Why we are the image of God. And we are children of God.

In Korea, we have proverb that, “even hedgehog also loves its own child”

What does it mean? Hedgehog has many torn, and the torn may pierce other, and it’s painful. And it may pierce to mother or father. We don’t like torn. But in mother hedgehog sight, her child look lovely and pretty.

You know that we are all the hedgehogs of God.

Even though we look ugly, and we are not mutual enough so that, we pierce somebody and give heart pain like hedgehog’s torn, God loves us, why because we are children of God.

So he sent Jesus in this world and killed him, and raise up him for us.

I hope you can feel in your heart this love of God

Do you pass through a deep tunnel of life?

Are you suffering

Do you have sorrow and wound in your heart?

Come forward to the love of God who loves you constantly.

If God is for you,

Who can be against us?

Who can condemn you?

Who can persecute you?

Who can separate you from the love of God?

Nobody can against you, nobody can condemn you.(31)

God did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?(32)

If even God didn’t spare his own son, then when you ask and pray to God, God will not spare anything, God will give you all things.

Who can receive this present of God?

The one who loves God, the one who returned to God, the one who obeys will receive it.

For us, Jesus who died for us and resurrected is interceding at the right hand of God.(34)

And when we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning’s too deep for words.(26)

When who can against us?

Tell to your next to that “Jesus is praying for u”

Jesus does not end up as he went to heaven.

He is asking for you continually at the right hand of God.

So that, you can be restored again.

It is worth to stand up again?

Satan, devils, and demons envy God and you.

And the world does not like you live good life in faith.

So they try and give temptation to destroy you through your family, or the church members, or circumstances in many ways.

The bible says, “for your sake we being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

When we are going to live for the Lord, we could be killed, and you could have damage, and people may misunderstand you, and you may lose your valuable things. And definitely, it you will get hurt. But nothing can break you from the love of Jesus. (38-39).

No one can separate you from love of God, even death cannot.

Don’t be afraid to die, we will all die. Only different that somebody die early, someone die late.

However, the death can not separate us from the love of Christ.

In north Korea, many of peoples are killed by gun because of their faith in Christ.

But they do not afraid of death.

However, south Korean Christian, we afraid of death and hardship.

Who has real faith?

Don’t be afraid of that to die for the Lord.

Do you afraid of that to live?

It’s very difficult that the present time, and even you cannot see the future?

Do you afraid of angels, rulers?

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, not things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”(38-39)
